🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?manageable

Are your credits converted?yes

Can you give an example?I had courses at OsloMet for about 10-15 credits/course, but they were recognized as compulsory courses from my home department for 4-5 credits/course. On the other hand, I didn't have to make up exams when I got home because everything was accepted!

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?In Norway, teaching in Masters courses is very much about writing and independent work. There's also a cultural drive to not stand out, to not be "the best" at anything. Courses tend to be based on discussions and prior home preparation.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, orientation week and buddy groups activities. At the same time, the university offers a thousand and one clubs to join - from the classic ESN, to suanning or swimming in the lakes. I joined the knitting club and found great friends there.

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:18000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Shop at the vegetable markets in Groenland, dumpster-dive, use the TooGoodToGo app.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Islands in the fjord, hikes around Holmenkolen, walks around Kampen or the Bigdoy peninsula

Share your best experience:Overnight in DNT (Norwegian Tourist Board) huts, which you can rent for a few nights. They are beautiful, in the countryside, and some of them are pleasantly affordable (about 50-100 NOK/night).

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane
Train

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing? If you're expecting a Norwegian winter, anything made of merino and frost protection is a must - minus 18 degrees will give you a hard time at first.
