🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?they have tons

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?The classes were not the same every week, but the curriculum was designed in short intensive courses (one/two weeks). The courses were also more practice-oriented: we were often divided into groups and worked together on a project of our choice. At the end of the course there was a presentation of our work. Learning was more fun. On the other hand, the things we were learning were at a comparatively lower level than what we learn at MUNI. Since each course lasted a maximum of 2 weeks, we didn't have enough time to get deeper into the issues.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? The university had many student clubs and activities, but mainly because of the language barrier, it was very difficult to get involved in their activities.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Special aids and technologies (e.g., text-to-speech software, hearing aids)

Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:25000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

Do you have any tips on how to save money? In France, most museums, memorials, galleries, etc. are free for Europeans under 26 years, so it's important to go to them while they're free. As for food, there are plenty of cafeterias (CROUS) for students all over town where you can eat well and very cheaply.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?with gestures

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?runs like clockwork

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? On the ratp.fr website, there is also information about closures, closures, delays... For tickets, there is the Bonjour RATP app, where you can buy tickets individually, but if you are a frequent traveller, you should buy a prepaid monthly card (Navigo). There is also Navigo Liberté +, where you are always invoiced at the end of the month according to how much you have travelled, and these tickets are cheaper than via the mobile app.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, Arc de Triomphe, Pantheon, Notre Dame, Hotel des Invalides, Hotel de Ville, Hotel de la Marine (not hotels), Place Concorde, Versailles... very many places

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Étretat - cliffs by the sea in the north of France, Versailles, Fountaibleu Castle...

Share your best experience:We rented a car with some international students and took a day trip to the north of France. We had several stops along the way, our destination was Étretat, the cliffs by the sea. We were also going to try the sea, but it was too cold.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Bus

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?If you're flying, Beauvais airport is very far from the city (an hour and a half by bus), so try Orly or Charles de Gaulle, which are right in the city and can be reached by metro.
