🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?manageable

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Honestly? Her frontality and lower level than the MUNI standard. Seminars are more in the form of one-sided lectures by lecturers who do not always have an adequate command of English, and many of them have no respect for students' time - they routinely cancel seminars, which they then move to other days completely outside the provided schedule.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? On the other hand, I have nothing to complain about in this sector - on the contrary. The local international office organises a lot of trips and parties, which are fully paid for by the school and where you have a great opportunity to meet other Erasmus students.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:6000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation?I was very lucky and I came across a Polish girl on a Facebook group who was just leaving for Erasmus and so her room became available for one semester. So I can recommend, like in Brno, to join FB groups where people offer roommates.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Biedronka, biedronka, biedronka

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?neutral

How does public transport work in the city?runs like clockwork

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?Definitely through the jakdojade app - it shows departures and you can buy tickets through it. In the city, it's best to use the szybka kolej miejska, an overground train that connects the whole tri-city - Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot - every 5 minutes or so.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Certainly the two new museums - Solidarność and the Second World War. They are well done and everyone in Gdansk should visit them (the international office took us to the Solidarnośći museum for free, and the 2 s.v. museum is free for students on Tuesdays).

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Malbork Castle, Warsaw, Sopot, Poznan and any other Polish city.

Share your best experience:Definitely parties organized by the international office, where you could overeat incredibly smoked salmon (and take the leftovers home for the next 3 days).

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Train

Can you pay by card?in most places

What not to forget when packing?Definitely enough warm clothes, it's really cold in Gdansk.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?Although Poland (next to Slovakia) is probably the least interesting country to visit at first glance, it certainly has a lot to offer. Not only will your wallet thank you for this decision (it's incomparable compared to prices in the West), but you'll also get to know a country that is incredibly close to us culturally and from which we definitely have a lot to learn.
