🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?they have tons

Are your credits converted?yes

Can you give an example? All of my credits were concerted 1:1, but all of them were recognized only as C/optional.

To have them recognized in stead of compulsory classes, I had to check with my lecturers at MUNI and the syllabus had to have a large overlap.

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Multiple lecturers in the same course, each was presenting the topic which suited them the best.

Voluntary tutoring classes if a student didn't finish all prerequisite classes (think of linear algebra tutoring in AI/ML class)

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, we had orientation week, buddy system, student pub and activities each week.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Support for LGBTQ+ students (e.g., safe spaces, counseling services)
I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:25000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?In Oslo, it was surprisingly easy to cook cheaply. In the first month, I only spent 5000 CZK for food.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Dumpster diving (Rema in Sogn, Joker near Kringsja), cheap food in Gronland (the main shop, butchery under the bridge had lamb meat for 200 CZK/kg.
Buying meat only at the cafeteria, bring side dishes from home.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?almost without problems

How does public transport work in the city?I've seen better

And what about transport outside the city?neutral

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?Ruter.

I highly recommend buying a cheap bike on marketplace/Finn.no. it saves a ton of money and costs less than the monthly ruter pass.

Just walking is also manageable.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?yes

How do you rate the availability of healthcare?mostly fine

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Saunas in front of the opera.
Islands reachable by public transport boats.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Get a DNT key and rent a cabin. My fav one is a bus ride away to the east/south east. It's possible to get a boat there and explore a nearby lake.

For further destinations I recommend getting an interrail

Share your best experience:Morning Disco.
Aurora.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?Don't bring more than 1 suitcase if coming in winter. It's impossible to roll it through the snow.

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing?Winter clothes. BRING MERINO WOOL LAYERS. Lifesaver.
Also, spikes for ice would've been cool, wish I had them. Don't try to be a hero.

Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?Anything I wanted to do was just a step away.
