🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?it's alright

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?All subjects were taught in the form of block teaching, i.e. one subject lasted for 2-3 weeks, and it was possible to take an exam immediately after finishing, even in the middle of the semester.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes. University, Shoum or ESN. For the Welcome Week, organised by ESN, you had to buy a wristband which cost about 60 euros. 2 weeks full of activities and parties. Buying a wristband is definitely worth it! :) Right at the faculty, we were offered to join the Debate Circle.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:15000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation?I personally searched various sites offering apartments. I was lucky that the landlord of the apartment I was staying in accommodates mostly Erasmus students and had reviews from them. So I didn't have to worry about a scam.

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Probably only 50 euros for the faculty registration. It wasn't a big amount, I just didn't know about it beforehand.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?I paid the most for the apartment, as it was a two-bedroom and I was alone, but it was worth it. The dorms weren't bad, but I preferred the privacy. You can save money - ride city bikes, not the bus, etc.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?neutral

And what about transport outside the city?neutral

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? There is an app or you can also use the driver. However, Maribor is not great, it is worth downloading the app for city bikes. This subscription for a year costs only 4 euros.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Pohorje, Calvary, walks along the Drava and much more :)

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Bled, Piran, caves... ESN organizes every semester a Slovenian Trip where all these "must see" are included. But of course you can rent a car to plan your own trip, like we did. :)

Share your best experience:A trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina, facilitated by ESN, in cooperation with a travel agency. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have got there. This way they arranged everything for us, and we could see the beauty (but also the post-war reality) of Sarajevo or Mostar.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Car

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing?Shoes for trips. :) Around Maribor you can take a lot of trips and hikes.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?During my stay I improved my English, learned to step out of my comfort zone and made friends from all over the world. It is an experience I will remember for a lifetime. I am very happy that I chose Maribor for my Erasmus. I definitely wouldn't change it.
