Ano, protože jsem si zapisovala jiné předměty

Registrace se děje před odjezdem do USA. Změny probíhají do dvou týnů po začátku výuky.

Ano, ale většinu procent známky tvořily úkoly.

1:2 (je možnost získat 12-15 kreditů, takže 24-30 na ECTS)

Describe the teaching methods (theory, practical and projects) and assessment of students:
měli jsme studentské projekty
každý týden jsme dostávali úkoly
na několika předmětech se řešila docházka
zkoušky byly buď formou testu, esejí, prezentací

Quality of teaching in comparison with home school:
moc se mi líbilo, že jsme dostávali pravidelně úkoly, takže jsem se průběžně věnovala studiu
více se na hodinách diskutovalo
zkoušky byly o něco snažší než u nás

How did you receive study materials?:
od učitelů, museli jsme si koupit knížky v knihovně

Can you recommend an interesting course/subject/teacher?:
Psychology of Addictive Behavior - nebo cokoliv od dr. Bliss

How well is the school library equipped?:
Počítače, kopírka a rozsáhlá sbírka knih

Availability of computers, internet access, level of software needed, requirements on notebook:
Výborná a vlastní notebook byl potřeba ačkoliv v nejhorším by se dalo chodit do té knihovny jen je to nepraktické.

Options from printing and copying:
Ano za poplatek i když od školy bylo pár kopií zdarma

Does the foreign school/student organisation arrange special events for exchange students?:
yes

If yes then what?:
Orientation week - přednášky o škole a Americe, kde jsme se scházeli s ostatními zahraničními studenty. Bylo toho opravdu mnoho.

Pouze při hodinách nebo pokud máte štěstí na spolubydlící. Od školy tolik akcí, které by se soustředily na integraci zahraničních studentů a mezinárodních moc nebylo.

Na koleji, bylo několik možností na výběr (několik cenových kategorií)

Všechno se dá dokoupit, nemá cenu sebou cokoliv vláčet.

Cca měsíc

What are the catering options?:
Stravování ve škole (několik druhů jídelen, fast foodů) - skvělý výběr, vaření si, restaurace ve městě

What are the rough costs of groceries (compare with Czech prices):
Až na některé výjimky jsou potraviny o něco dražší.

Transport to location of placement:
Letadlo (s přestupama) a poté z Kansas City cca 40 min autem.

Rough prices for transportation:
zpáteční letenka cca 25 000kč
uber z letiště cca 80$
autobusy po měste jsou zdarma, jen nejsou spolehlivé

Tips for purchasing cheap tickets and other recommendations:
hledat si hodně dopředu, pak jsou letenky zpravidla dražší

What are the local transport options (public transport, cycling, on foot, rough prices):
MHD, pěšky, kolo také, ale všechno je dost daleko a provoz velký
pro studenty, co jsou v Kansasu déle než na semestr doporučuji koupit auto (vyplatí se to na cestování po státech, po městě Lawrence a můžete vozit i osttaní)

What kind of formalities have to be arranged before arrival, for example residence permit?:
I-94, se vším vám pomohou při orientation weeku

What health insurance did you use? (rough price, advantages, disadvantages, is it necessary to arrange insurance at the university other than your home (Czech) insurance?):
zdravotní pojištění školy, a je to cca 1100$

Did you have any experience with medical treatment abroad?:
Ano, ve zdravotnickém centru univerzity, Nic velkého, personál byl moc příjemný. Na začátku jsme šli na testování kvůli tuberkulóze.

Ne

S vízem J-1 můžete pracovat na kampusu, kde je spousta možností (knihovna, stravování,...)

Cestovat (letenky nebo autem)
