🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?neutral

Are your credits converted?yes

Can you give an example?I attended a course which was worth 6 credits on host university and I had it recognized for course which is worth 3 credits + 2 credits for exam, however MUNI recognized only 3 credits for the course itself without exam.

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Not specifically teaching method, but it was interesting that at some of our courses (which are mandatory for Bolzano master students in software engineering), we were only around 10 people or so which is really just a few compared to most mandatory courses at FI, so of course it influences overall teaching attitude.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? There are plenty of events and opportunities to connect with fellow exchange as well as local students since day one, especially thanks to activities organized by Exchange Student Union - common dinners, aperitivos, parties, trips and much more. Personally, I can not say a single bad word about this.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Special examination conditions (e.g., extended time, quiet rooms)
Crisis intervention
Support for LGBTQ+ students (e.g., safe spaces, counseling services)

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:15000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Bolzano has a beautiful surrounding natures, so there is a lot of opportunities to travel around (and also spend more money:)). But when it comes to mandatory life expenses, nothing seemed that much more expensive than I imagined.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Try to get the dorms - it is usually even half price compared to private accommodations. And definitiely get a bike for getting around city. Also eating in mensa is quite bang for a buck.

How well did you manage to communicate in English?almost without problems

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine
