🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?no

Does the university offer enough courses in English?manageable

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Registration of courses is quite complicated for Erasmus students, otherwise the teaching is similar to MUNI. Most courses in English are at the Faculty of International Studies. So students of other faculties (as it happened to me at the Faculty of History, for example) can very easily find out, that their institute and faculty will not offer enough courses in English and they will have to register random courses from faculties where there are more courses in English.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? There are events organised by ESN students, but not many.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:17000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation? There are a lot of Facebook and WhatsApp groups where different companies offer apartments for rent. Or you can post in those groups yourself and people will contact you with offers. But you need to be careful because sometimes there are scams.

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you? They say that Poland is cheap, but that is not true at all. Especially not in Krakow. Basically everything is more expensive here than in the Czech Republic. I was most surprised by the price of alcohol, which is more than double the price here.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Probably the cheapest grocery store here is Biedronka. I also recommend cooking at home.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?almost without problems

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?Tickets for public transport and trains can be bought in the Jakdojade app. The app can also search for connections, but I recommend checking it yourself as it sometimes suggests connections that don't make sense.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?yes

How do you rate the availability of healthcare?mostly fine

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Wawel Castle, then the city districts of Stare Miasto, Kazimierz and Stare Podgórze are the most interesting. Also Kościuszko's Mound, Piłsudski's Mound and Krakow's Mound. There are also many museums in the city. There are also a lot of beautiful historical buildings and churches. Finally, I would like to mention the Zakrzówek Park.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Warsaw is only 3 hours away by train. Also Tarnów is a nice town near Krakow. Ojcowski National Park is also near Krakow.

Share your best experience:All the experiences here were great, I don't think I can pick the best.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
How did you get to the place?Train
Bus
Car

Can you pay by card?in most places

What not to forget when packing? The weather here is very unpredictable. Therefore, I recommend packing clothes for all types of weather. No matter what time of year you go.
