Language requirements: Non-native English speakers will take an English proficiency exam prior to arrival. To qualify for an English language waiver, the following scores are required:

Undergraduate:
TOEFL: 79 or higher overall score with no subscore below 18
IELTS: 6.5 or higher overall score with no subscore below 6.0
4 years of college preparatory English and high school graduation in English-speaking country

Graduate:
TOEFL (internet-based): Minimum score of 23 on each section
IELTS: Overall band score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6 on each section

All other students will take the Applied English Center (AEC) exam online prior to arrival or during orientation and their test scores will determine if AEC classes are required.
Supported academic levels: Bachelor, Master
Academic minimum required: Minimal required GPA: 2.5
GPA = Grade Point Average, a number from 0.0 to 4.0 (0.0 = fail, 4.0 = excellent)
ECTS usage: No. At our institution, 1 credit hour = 15 contact hours (active class time/course instruction). Most courses at our institution are 3 credits for a total of 45 contact hours.
A minimum course load at MU consists of 20 ECTS credits per semester. This is equivalent to 40 credits at University of Kansas. The final decision on the recognition of credits at MU in your Learning Agreement is up to the departmental coordinator at MU.
Further academic details: Graduate students can take undergraduate courses and vice-versa.
