Length of stay: semester
Language requirements: For students that are going to take courses in portuguese, and/or are not native Portuguese or Spanish speakers: Declaration of Portuguese knowledge certified by the home institution (minimum A1) and/or the Celpe-Bras proficiency exam. Undergraduate classes are taught in Portuguese, except for the classes in foreign languages registered on UFF’s website and part of the Minor in Global Challenges Program.
Supported academic levels: Bachelor, Master, Doctoral
Academic minimum required: UFF grades are from 0 to 10, with the minimum passing grade being 6. More information is available at: international.uff.br/uffs-grading-system/
ECTS usage: No. Our system is based on the number of hours spent in class (classroom hours-CH). Thus, a regular course with 4 hours of classes per week certifies students with 60 hours in the academic semester. A course of 2 hours a week, on the other hand, certifies the student with 30 hours in the academic semester. It is worth noting that this system only takes into account the workload of the subject, and does not take into account the workload dedicated to students' independent studies.we recommend that 4 subjects be considered as a full period of study. Usually, we can say that for students to receive 30 ECTS they should take 4 to 5 classes of 60 hours, but this depends on your university.
A minimum course load at MU consists of 20 ECTS credits per semester. This is equivalent to 600 credits at Fluminense Federal University. The final decision on the recognition of credits at MU in your Learning Agreement is up to the departmental coordinator at MU.
