No. The equivalence of a UABC credit depends on the criteria of the origin university. UABC curricula shall be governed by a credit system. A credit is understood as the unit of value or score assigned to each learning unit or academic activity, which shall be calculated as follows:
I. In learning units that require additional study or work by the student, eight effective hours of class shall be equivalent to one credit;
II. In learning units that do not require additional study or work by the student, sixteen effective hours of class shall be equivalent to one credit;
III. The credit value of clinical activities, practical training for the learning of music, dance, and visual arts, as well as research projects or other similar activities that form part of the curriculum, shall be computed globally within the curriculum itself, according to their relevance, intensity, and duration; and
IV. Continuing education programs shall have a computable credit value in accordance with this statute.
A minimum course load at MU consists of 20 ECTS credits per semester. This is equivalent to 20 credits at Autonomous University of Baja California. The final decision on the recognition of credits at MU in your Learning Agreement is up to the departmental coordinator at MU.
