🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?they have tons

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?A lot of pre-recorded classes which the students can view anytime they want.
A lot of attention on individual study.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?MASSIVE AMOUNTS. It's been super easy to get together with other international students (they have they own guild at TUNI) & to meet with Finnish students on daily non-educational activities on campus. Each international student also gets a tutor/buddy that helps them with most stuff

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Special aids and technologies (e.g., text-to-speech software, hearing aids)
Special examination conditions (e.g., extended time, quiet rooms)
I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:15000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Well a rock broke our rented car's windshield and that was 300 € 😭

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Use the school cafeteria. < 3 € for basically "as much as you can fit on your plates" buffet with fresh and healthy food.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?runs like clockwork

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?Google maps, VR Matkalla, Nysse Mobiili, HSL (Helsinki)

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?yes

How do you rate the availability of healthcare?terrible

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city? All the frozen lakes, saunas, student events especially WAPPU! And at least 1 hockey match in the Nokia arena (ideally a Tampere derby)

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Lapland (DON'T go to Santa's village that place is HORRIBLE), Helsinki, national parks. Honestly say yes to every available trip. You're not gonna regret it

Share your best experience:There's too many to pick just one. The wappu experience was for sure one of the most unique experiences, but all the trips and student events we attended were great. This was the best 5 months of my life (yet!)

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?If you're flying on in January like I did. Don't buy a train from Helsinki to Tampere before you get your luggage from the plane. I had to wait for 3 hours at the airport for the plane to get de-frosted and get my suitcase. Also the train from Helsinki to Tampere froze over twice during my stay there so maybe plan ahead for that (somehow😂)

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing?Slippers for the sauna!

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?Best time of my life! ❤️
