Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?I was pleasantly surprised by how much emphasis was placed on practice versus theory. All of our assignments were practical outputs, no tests or required texts from specialized literature.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?The University organises orientation weeks and various student events.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?I haven’t noticed

Do you have any tips on how to save money?As for grocery shopping, there are several supermarkets, some cheaper (e.g. Aldi, where I used to go), some more expensive (e.g. Albert Heijn). You need to map out your neighbourhood as soon as possible to find the cheaper places.

What is a must-see in the city?City centre

What are the must-visit trip destinations?There are plenty of bike trips in the area, which is a popular means of transport in the Netherlands. Nearby are the town of Delft, the windmill village of Kinderdijk and the beaches of The Hague. For a longer trip, definitely Amsterdam.

Share your best experience:The best experience was Kingsday in Amsterdam at the end of May, which is a Dutch holiday during which the whole country celebrates in the streets of the cities and Amsterdam logically has the biggest celebrations. It was great to spend the whole day there with a few people and celebrate with the locals.
