🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?it's alright

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Gerlev is not a classical university, so the teaching is quite different. It is rather practical, with emphasis on students' opinions and suggestions, and no exams are included.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, there were meetings for international students only, where current problems and possible solutions were discussed to make the stay more enjoyable.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:15000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?The school charges tuition fees, which include both accommodation and food. Then travel becomes more expensive, with normal public transport or train journeys several times more expensive than in the Czech Republic, and student discounts do not apply. In addition, one has to take into account paying for school courses.

Do you have any tips on how to save money? It's worth buying a local public transport card to get around.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?neutral

And what about transport outside the city?neutral

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? You can search for connections both via google and their app. You can buy a portable public transport card at 7-Eleven.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Slagelse, where the school is located, is quite a small town and there is not much to see, except perhaps the beautiful sunsets every evening. So it's definitely worth a trip to Copenhagen, which has much more to offer.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Take a bike and ride to the beach in Korsør. Take the train to Copenhagen or Aalborg.

Share your best experience:I don't have one in particular, but I had a lot of wonderful moments with other students I met during my stay. I also got the chance to experience first hand the "Danish culture" and how they have fun, which was really interesting many times :D.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Car

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?Transportation to/from the airport often costs the same as airfare.

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing?Don't forget that the wind can make the sensible temperature much lower than you might expect.
Danes like to use the bicycle as a means of transport, so if I had the chance I would definitely take my own. You can also rent a bike at the school, but I would be afraid to ride it downhill (they have malfunctioning brakes for example :D).
I also appreciated having my own bedding.
