Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Their reluctance to change the rules for Erasmus students. Practically you have to do everything exactly the same as local students, otherwise you won't pass the course. If, for example, you don't notice that you have to hand in an assignment because of the language barrier, you're out of luck.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Hardly at all.

What is a must-see in the city?Playa de las Teresitas

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Playa de Montaña Peleada, hike from Afur to Taganana, peak el Teide, Bocacangrejos, I recommend flying with Ryanair to Agadir and from there to Marrakesh. Of the other islands, La Palma is worth a visit.

What not to forget when packing?Clothes for all types of weather, Tenerife has microclimates and La Laguna is at a higher altitude so it tends to be cooler. Definitely some sweaters and a light jacket. And otherwise lots of summer clothes.
