🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?it's alright

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?The teachers are very friendly and helpful. The difference with the Czech Republic is that students and teachers address each other by name and no one is too formal. Teaching is definitely more practical and individual. And I can't forget that the teachers expect that not everything has to go exactly as planned, so they are really lenient in such situations.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Definitely yes! From the very beginning of my stay in Norway, the university regularly organised a lot of extracurricular events and activities for us, which helped us to integrate quickly. Moreover, for the first week of my stay, these events took place every day, which was great. BBQs in January, trips to the countryside, game nights or the 17th of May celebrations - we experienced everything:)

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Special examination conditions (e.g., extended time, quiet rooms)

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:28000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

Do you have any tips on how to save money? Before we arrived in Norway, the university provided us with a PDF brochure with all the information, including tips on where to shop cheaply and what to save, which was great. In general I would recommend the Kiwi grocery store, the Normal drugstore and the sportswear outlet right in Lillehammer.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?runs like clockwork

And what about transport outside the city?runs like clockwork

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?I recommend buying a student subscription ticket for a month or longer, it's definitely worth the price. Everything can be arranged in the Entur app, which is also where I searched for connections within Lillehammer. For train tickets and connections outside Lillehammer, I used the You app.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Lillehammer ski jump, view of the whole Lillehammer Balbergkampen.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Tromsø, Stavanger.

Share your best experience:One of the best experiences was definitely the celebration of Constitution Day on 17 May. The university prepared a beautiful all-day program for us. We had breakfast together with my friends, took part in the parade in the city centre and even saw the so-called Russ bus of the graduating seniors from Lillehammer High School with our own eyes. The streets were lined with locals in traditional dress, Norwegian flags were everywhere and there was ice cream. In the afternoon we played games outside and ended the day at Paddy's - the most famous place in Lillehammer:)
