🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?neutral

Are your credits converted?yes

Can you give an example? For example, Catalan was worth 6 credits at the host university, and here it is recognized for 4. But everything is easy to find, so I took it into account in advance and made my schedule accordingly.

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you? Many of the classes were taught in Galician, even though the timetable indicated Spanish. The end of the course was then based, apart from a final test, on continuous class work and group projects. The student does not have as much time over the semester, as he has a lot of homework in each course.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? Before the start of classes, the university organized a welcome day for international students, which was very nice. We got university merch, had free food, played games, danced on the dance floor and met a lot of other foreign students, whom we met in the corridors of the faculties or at ESN events. Then, during the semester, some professors tried to match foreign students with local students in group projects so that we could get to know each other more outside of class.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Special aids and technologies (e.g., text-to-speech software, hearing aids)
Special examination conditions (e.g., extended time, quiet rooms)
Support for LGBTQ+ students (e.g., safe spaces, counseling services)

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:30000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation?Idealist. At the same time, I recommend looking at other pages, like the Facebook ones, for a better overview.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Write down all your expenses so that you can keep track of how much you spend. I've grown to love Gadis. I recommend getting a card for public transport, the tickets are then half price. However, the town is small and you can usually walk everywhere.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?with gestures

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?Apps that fit: bus - Monbus, public transport - Moovit, train - Renfe, taxi - Radiotaxi. At first it's hard to get used to transport in a foreign country, but it's manageable, mostly everything ran nicely on time and there were no problems. I would recommend buying tickets in advance with a return ticket.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city? It's definitely a cathedral, both inside and a rooftop tour. I also managed to see the Botafumeiro, but they only let that go a few times a year, check the cathedral website to see what days it is during your stay. I definitely recommend walking through Alameda Park, or climbing the surrounding hills.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Finisterre, A Coruña, Pontevedra, Porto.

Share your best experience:Hard to pick just one. Definitely one of the best moments is the Brazilian forró dance class I took with my friends and learned a lot. I spent Christmas with a group of friends from Spain and South America and I definitely won't forget such a beautiful and energetic Christmas. Another unforgettable experience was when we were in the square in front of the cathedral welcoming the start of the new year with everyone, stuffing 12 grapes of wine quickly into our mouths and trying not to choke.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane

Can you pay by card?in most places

What not to forget when packing?Umbrella and raincoat. Waterproof clothing if possible.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences? It was an incredible experience, a great experience and an opportunity to get to know a new country, people and culture, but also myself. If you want to experience a different side of Spain, I absolutely recommend Santiago de Compostela.
