🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?it's alright

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?We did a lot if group work, which is not that surprising, but we really did a lot. Like basically every task was a group project. We also had the same classes several times a week (usually 3 times) so it was more like the US university system, I would say.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? So many activities, both by the uni and by student organisation. If you want to socialise, you’ll have tons of opportunities.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:18000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation? The university provided us with a website where we could find a flat. It was verified and I did not have to look anywhere else.

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Not really, only that we had to buy a vacuum 😀

Do you have any tips on how to save money?I tried to do like a big grocery run only once a week and I went to Lidl, which was so much cheaper than Eroski or other shops. Eating out is not that expensive in Spain, so that was kind of ok.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?neutral

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?I found connections on google maps, it worked great. You can buy ticket at every metro or train station. Or in buses in cash.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Obviously, the Guggenheim museum.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?I love the whole area of Basque Country, I definitely recommend visiting San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Any small town at the coast is worth the visit. For example Mundaka or of course - Donostia.

Share your best experience:Honestly, just sitting by the ocean was amazing. I loved visiting San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, I’ve been there a few times. A little further away are Picos de Europa, which I really recommend!

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?Airport is really close to the city. The bus that runs there is great. Uber was also not expensive. Just know that Bilbao is not directly by the ocean, you have to travel for a while (25-30 minutes) to reach it, but their metro is great.

Can you pay by card?in most places

What not to forget when packing?Nothing special, it is not a remote place, you buy anything. Maybe don’t forget some specific medication.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?Bilbao is such a lovely place, I have basically never heard of it before I choose it as my destination, but such an underrated gem! The location and also the school was great and I love my Spanish language classes (there are also Basque language classes!).
