🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?no

Does the university offer enough courses in English?manageable

Are your credits converted?yes

Can you give an example?I earned a total of 24 credits, which I also earned at our university.

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?The big difference is that teachers are teased and not addressed by titles. School often doesn't start until 9 o'clock. Lessons in the classroom are usually designed in such a way that a task is set and solved in the following lessons. Most of the time it is group work which is then presented. In the third year they have a full semester of practice and do not attend school at all.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? There is an orientation week where they show you around the school and address the organization of the semester. Student societies are also introduced, such as ESN, which organises various trips and events for Erasmus students. But otherwise there are two other societies in the city that organise events and trips for students (Bestlife and Emycet).

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Support for LGBTQ+ students (e.g., safe spaces, counseling services)

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:10000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation?I had accommodation through a friend, but a lot of people look for accommodation through FB or ESN pages.

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?I was just surprised that I had to pay for a Spanish course and there was no beginners course from the school.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Walking, then we paid a membership fee to Bestlif and there were also discounts on travel. And even as a student you can get a lot of discounts. Then I walked a lot. I shopped at Mercadona, which was probably the cheapest option.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?with gestures

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?I searched for connections via Alsa.es when I was driving outside Granada. Otherwise, I looked on Google maps. You can buy tickets from the driver or on the app. If a student arranges at the university, they also get discounts on travel.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?yes

How do you rate the availability of healthcare?neutral

Share your best experience:An amazing experience was the five day trip to Morocco I took with Bestlife. We travelled by ferry, where we saw dolphins, and then by bus. Each day we found ourselves in a new place. One day in the mountains where there was snow and the next day in the Sahara where we slept in yurts. The locals showed us their dances. We also experienced a sandstorm, rode camels and tried sandboarding. We visited the blue city of Chefchaouen or the city of Fez. We ate their local food and I had quite a culture shock.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane
Bus

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?Transportation is good to Granada. The best connection is to fly to Malaga and then take the bus to Granada. It's a good idea to be prepared to probably drag your suitcases uphill in Granada.

Can you pay by card?in most places

What not to forget when packing? It's quite cold in the houses even in the summer, so we couldn't do without a thermo lamp. It rains quite a bit in the spring, it's good to have a raincoat or umbrella.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?Erasmus opens the door to a world of travel, new cultures and friendships for life. Thanks to it, I discovered not only foreign countries, but also myself - it's a life-changing experience.
