🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?neutral

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you? Some courses don't last the whole semester, but are, for example, several times a week. At the same time, the classes were not completely regular, you always had to check the timetable to see if we were starting at the usual time or which classroom we would be in. I also feel like we had a lot more group assignments than at MUNI.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?During the first month of our stay, the university organised events for Erasmus students at least once a week, we had the opportunity to join student societies and volunteer both inside and outside the university.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Special examination conditions (e.g., extended time, quiet rooms)

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:22000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Maybe only the bedding set, which we had to buy for about 1500 CZK at the beginning.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Cheap shops - Kiwi, Rema 1000 and Europris, and the secondhand shop Ting og Tøy is great, where you can get everything from sports equipment to a kitchen mixer.

It's also great to set up an account at BUA - a rental shop where they'll lend you everything from snowshoes to slacklines for free. You do need a Norwegian phone number, but you can easily buy a SIM card at a gas station, for example.

I also know from personal experience that the expensive textbooks and books that the school says we have to buy, we don't actually need or can get at the library.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?Definitely the Entur app, where you can search for connections and buy tickets.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Definitely the Maihaugen open-air museum, it's worth it in winter and summer. Also the dominant landmark of the town - the jumping bridge with a perfect view, in summer you can walk along the Mesna River with its countless waterfalls. It is also worth discovering the local gallery, they can give interpretation in English. Be sure to also go to Det Lille Pannekakehuset for perfect Dutch fritters.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Definitely Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Tromsø. Iskjorkja Icefall in winter. And also camping, anywhere.

Share your best experience:Definitely skiing in June on the glacier! I recommend Stryn sommerski or Galdhøpiggen Sommerskisenter. (Just don't forget your sunscreen.)

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Train
Bus
Car

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?Oslo has 2 airports, one of them - TRP - is quite far from Oslo. You can get from there by train.

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing? For the winter, definitely better quality snowshoes, as the trails are often snow covered or completely icy. If you ski, your own equipment is definitely worth it.
