🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?they have tons

Are your credits converted?yes

Can you give an example? Two of my courses were for 7.5 credits and MUNI recognized them as 8 credit courses.

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?University students in Sweden are given a lot of freedom when it comes to studying. You don't spend too much time at the lectures, compared to Czech univerities, but you get more work to do by yourself, or, which is also typically swedish, you need to work in study groups on some assigment, so you need to organize some time when you meet your classmates and you study together without the teacher being present there all the time.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, Linköping Uni has a many student organizations that prepare all kinds of activities for the exchange students. There was a great orientation week, initiating ceremonial, trips to other parts of Sweden, or during the whole semesters there were parties, meet-ups and much more.
Other thing that particulary appealed to me was that there was a huge number of student organizations that are open to Swedish as well as for the international students. I myself joined an university orchestra and a Swedish folk musik group.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Interpretation services
Special aids and technologies (e.g., text-to-speech software, hearing aids)
Special examination conditions (e.g., extended time, quiet rooms)
Crisis intervention
Support for LGBTQ+ students (e.g., safe spaces, counseling services)

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:25000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?No

Do you have any tips on how to save money? Some health insurance companies offer cheap travel insurance for students who are going on an exchange program. For example, I paid 6 czk for approx. 4 months of my trip.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?almost without problems

How does public transport work in the city?runs like clockwork

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? There is an app for both the local busses and also the intercity connections.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?yes

How do you rate the availability of healthcare?perfect

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city? The nature, which is all around the city - perfect for hikes. You can also go swimming in the local lakes. Then I recommend the centre of the city, parks around the river, historical town 'Gamla Linköping', visit of a hockey match and also shopping district with huge second hand stores and of course IKEA!

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Stockholm, Norrköping, lake Vättern, lake Roxen...

Share your best experience:I cannot say that it was the best experience, but I had the chance to visit and play at a folk musik festival in Norrköping. Swedish folk musik is really typical and unique and together with the atmosphere of the city, it was truly an amazing experience.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Train

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing?I recommend to bring something like cards or smaller board games, because it creates an oportunity to spend fun time with other international friends.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences? The best thing about Erasmus is that it does not end with the end of your stay. Now I have friends all around the world whom I will visit and who will visit me. I'll always be grateful that I went for it!
