🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?manageable

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?The university has many courses that international students can enrol in. I don't know how it is in other faculties, but the Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work doesn't offer many courses in which students participate directly in the teaching, as it is mostly conducted in Greek. Instead, however, the teachers have a very individual approach, allowing field trips to primary schools and inviting international students to lectures and conferences that are given in English.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, they have an absolutely great ESN that we have made a lot of friends with. They helped us get our bearings, gave us advice to get started, and even during the semester we met outside of ESN events.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?I haven’t noticed
Other

Special needs - Other:I haven't met any students who have any special needs. However, I would say that as far as, for example, the LGBTQ+ students mentioned here, Greece is very open and supportive (or at least non-judgmental).

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:8000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation?Through Greek real estate agents.

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Expensive public transport, the Greek "shalinkart" is not very worthwhile, it was better for us to buy individual tickets. At the same time, there is no such thing as night runs, but taxis were pretty cheap, especially when more people are in the car. Last bus out of the centre went around 11pm, first bus after that around 5.30pm if I remember correctly.

Do you have any tips on how to save money? The canteen at the university offers free breakfast, lunch and dinner <3

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?almost without problems

How does public transport work in the city?neutral

And what about transport outside the city?terrible

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Sunsets on the beach, Rio-Antirio Bridge (Charilaose Trikoupis Bridge), carnival, St. Andrew's Basilica and more.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Panachaiko, Zakynthos, Athens, Monemvasia, Kalamata, Olympia, Corinth, many other beautiful places.

Share your best experience:During the Easter holidays, which last two weeks in Greece, we rented a car and drove around the Peloponnese. And I certainly mustn't forget the Sea to summit hike up Mount Panachaiko, which is above the town - we started the morning on the beach, and within a few hours were standing on the summit, 1926 metres above sea level. We spent the night in a shelter where two locals looked after us, and in the morning walked back to the sea via the waterfalls and the unbuilt sanatorium. Also wonderful was a three-day trip to Zakynthos, which is completely free of tourists in the low season and can be reached by bus and ferry from Patras. We rented a car locally and over the weekend managed to see all the places we had saved on the map.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences? Thanks to Erasmus, I had the best time of my life, from which I took a lot of experiences and friends. In retrospect, my only regret is that I was scared and didn't go sooner.
