Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?it's alright

Are your credits converted?yes

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?I was surprised that the lessons are taught in blocks, the lessons last 3 hours and the exams normally last 4 hours each.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Students can join student societies, which are involved in many different activities from sports to music.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling

Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:16000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

Do you have any tips on how to save money? The school provided us with very sophisticated materials that helped us navigate both in and out of school. My tip for cheaper food is the Kiwi store app and also the bake sale after 10pm at Rema 1000. While traveling, you can save on airfare with Norweigan with a student code and on accommodation in DNT cabins for their members.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?runs like clockwork

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?My favourite is the local waterfalls, but the local ski jump is also stunning, especially during training or races.

What are the must-visit trip destinations? In the autumn term the school organises a trip to Besseggen and it is definitely worthwhile. Otherwise, I recommend visiting Lofoten. It's a bit further away, but it's an absolutely magical place.

Share your best experience:I will definitely remember winter sports experiences all my life. We tried skiing and also cross-country skiing. Then we tried it as a spectator and finally from the organizers' side when we volunteered at the Ski Jumping World Cup. Living in a community of students was also a great experience for me. About 100 international students come to Lillehammer every semester. It is a small town and everyone meets everywhere, knows each other and shares most things collectively. Compared to my friends' erasmus experiences in bigger cities, this is something a bit different.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane
Bus

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip? It's definitely worth buying your flight tickets early. Wait after landing with buying the train tickets from the airport to Lillehammer, as they can't be cancelled.

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing? Thanks to the BUA, a lot of sports equipment is available to borrow for free, but any favourite equipment will definitely come in handy. For the romantic souls, I recommend throwing some lights in your suitcase to add to the atmosphere of the autumn darkness.
