🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?neutral

Are your credits converted?yes

Can you give an example? This recalculation occurred only for the course I wanted to recognize as a course taught at MUNI. In Ulm they taught "Elementare Wahrscheinlichkeit und Statistik" for 9 credits and here "Probability 1" is for 6. However, for the other courses that I didn't want to recognize as any particular one at MUNI, I got exactly as many credits as they had written in Germany.

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?The biggest difference was the "mass" exercises. At MUNI, I was used to a few of us coming together, counting examples at the blackboard and explaining the material. In Ulm, one had to hand in a scored problem before the exercise and at the exercise only the practitioner performed a sample solution to the problem. It was basically a kind of second lecture for 200 people.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? There was a lot of it. From the Welcome Week to regular parties, board game parties or various events that just came to mind.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Other

Special needs - Other:However, only a limited percentage of classrooms were wheelchair accessible, and only some dormitories were wheelchair accessible. But I think that could be worked out if necessary.

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:12000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

Do you have any tips on how to save money? Each grocery store has its own loyalty program which made it possible to save nicely. Plus the board game nights once a month meant free pizza for dinner :D

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?almost without problems

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?neutral

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? They had their own app, something like idos, but I can't remember the name. Otherwise trains all over Germany Deutsche Bahn app.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?yes

How do you rate the availability of healthcare?perfect

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Schiefes Haus, observation tower of the local cathedral, Christmas market.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Blaubeuren, it's close and beautiful.

Share your best experience:It's hard to say the best one, but all the nights of board games and free mulled wine we got in between classes before Christmas are definitely among the best.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Train
