🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?none

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?In my experience, the education in Italy is a little less individual and interactive. There were at least 100 students in every lecture in my course, so for example in the exam the professors didn't even know who I was. This is a big difference from the Italian course at MUNI.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? The university offered various lectures and other events. I was most interested in the tour of the old university buildings with architecture students and the gesticulation course in Italian.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Support for LGBTQ+ students (e.g., safe spaces, counseling services)
I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:20000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation? Many accommodation options can be found on idealista.it. But in Naples beware of scammers and always require a rental contract.

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Compared to the Czech Republic, for example, public transport and trains are significantly more expensive and there are no student discounts. Some trips can get more expensive, but again you have the opportunity to save money elsewhere.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Grocery stores are rather worse off than in the Czech Republic when it comes to prices, Italy is not a cheap country in all respects. What you can save on, however, is admission to national cultural and archaeological sites. I never paid more than 2€ for an entrance to a museum, gallery or archaeological park.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?not at all

How does public transport work in the city?I've seen better

And what about transport outside the city?I've seen better

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? In Italy, one realises how incredibly lucky we are to have IDOS in the Czech Republic. Timetables are a dirty word in Naples and public transport is not reliable, at least not above ground. The only thing that works reasonably well is the metro and metropolitan train lines.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Piazza del Plebiscito, Castel Sant'Elmo, Via Toledo, walk along the coast, visit any of the city's beaches.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Pompeii, Herculaneum, Sorrento Peninsula, Pozzuoli.

Share your best experience:I often went swimming at Baia di Ieranto beach at the tip of the Sorrento peninsula. The rocky beach with clear water in a cove between huge cliffs and overlooking the island of Capri is my favourite memory of Erasmus.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane

Can you pay by card?sometimes

What not to forget when packing?Nail clippers, sunscreen with SPF protection.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?See Naples and die. A city full of life and people of all kinds that just grows on you.
