Univerzita je čistě pro výzkum, tedy pro doktorské studium. Před odjezdem jsem si našla vedoucího na zahraniční instituci, který byl ochotný vést můj projekt.

Motivační dopis, životopis, informace o výzkumu.

Pár týdnů, ačkoli já už byla v kontaktu s koordinátorem rok předem.

Výzkum probíhal dle mého uvážení s občasným setkáním s vedoucím. Mimo něj jsem se ještě setkala se dvěma jinými akademiky, kteří mne provedli po kampusu, zaškolili v knihovně a probrali můj i jejich výzkum.

How well is the school library equipped?:
Výborná pro můj výzkum (radikální alternativní hnutí původních obyvatel střední Ameriky a jižního Mexika, feminismus, environmentalistika, atd.). Univerzita je výzkumná a zaměřuje se na ekologii, environmentalistiku a alternativní společenská hnutí.

Integrace by byla jistě skvělá kdyby nešlo jen o výzkum. Místní studenti, akademici i ostatní lidé jsou velice milí.

Practical questions on your placement
Where did you live?:
V centru města San Cristóbal nejprve přes airbnb poté po domluvě s mojí hostitelkou, která se stala mou kamarádkou.

Na delší pobyt je možné najít i daleko levnější ubytování. Já jsem během pobytu cestovala na konferenci a kvůli výzkumu, neplatila jsem proto měsíční nájemné.

Describe the equipment. Tips for future students – what should they bring with them?:
Pozor na štěnice, vlhkost a kontaminovanou vodu (nejezte ani zeleninu a ovoce bez použití bactericidu nebo oloupání). Dobré mít s sebou léky, i když jsou k dostání i na místě.

Pár dní či týdnů předem.

What are the catering options?:
V Chiapasu je neuvěřitelně levno, takže kdekoli. Pro vegany ráj.

What are the rough costs of groceries (compare with Czech prices):
Levnější nebo přibližně stejné.

Transport to location of placement:
Letecky.

Rough prices for transportation:
Je možné najít zpáteční letenku do 15000 Kč, někdy i levnější.

Tips for purchasing cheap tickets and other recommendations:
Pár měsíců předem.

What are the local transport options (public transport, cycling, on foot, rough prices):
Colectivos za 10 Kč, uber. Taxi není doporučené kvůli občasným únosům.

Nic.

What health insurance did you use? (rough price, advantages, disadvantages, is it necessary to arrange insurance at the university other than your home (Czech) insurance?):
Cestovní pojištění od české spořitelny.

Did you have any experience with medical treatment abroad?:
Ano a bylo v pořádku. Chvíle čekání a cca 700 Kč za ošetření, co poté bylo proplaceno v ČR.

Měla jsem kožní mykózní infekci kvůli kontaminované vodě, ale zrabraly mi léky od místního lékaře.
