🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?they have tons

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Classes run on an irregular timetable, you may have completely different times and places each week. Courses don't start the same week, they start 3 months into the semester.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, there is an ESN organisation.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Special examination conditions (e.g., extended time, quiet rooms)
Support for LGBTQ+ students (e.g., safe spaces, counseling services)

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:25000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?I wasn't surprised by anything except for the divine second hand, I travelled a lot and played sports.

Do you have any tips on how to save money? You can get a lot of stuff cheap at second hand stores. Plenty of places have student discounts, so don't be afraid to ask if you can use the discount for being a student.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?neutral

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? In my city there is a possibility to get a transport ticket for buses and there is an app - Jyväskylä Tickets, through which you can buy a ticket, or you can also buy it from the driver (all online). After Finland, I recommend using the train app - VR Matkalla. For buses, the onni.bus website or FlixBus.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Jyväskylä is quite a small town, but what you have to see are the lakes and the surrounding nature, it dominates. Otherwise, I guess there's nothing of interest from the sights, after all we're spoiled by the rich Central European history that isn't here. Go to Harju - the hill with the "lookout tower", where there is also a natural history museum and then the Valkoinen Puu cafe.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Helsinki, Tampere, nature (full of national parks - Koli), Lapland, Muuratsalo, Tallinn + Riga

Share your best experience:The best experience was probably a trip to Lapland.... aurora borealis, dog sledding, cold, snow, snowshoeing, skiing in Levi.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane
Bus

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?I can't think of anything, the journey is quite comfortable and easy.

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing?I would recommend very good boots for winter, a long warm coat and other warm clothes. Fashion is not a big thing here, especially when it's -20°. Full of vitamins and creams that you use at home. A small pillow - there is only one bigger one in the accommodation.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences? An unforgettable six months that I will remember all my life. Finland gave me new experiences, people and memories.
