🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?it's alright

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Not really. The teaching is similar to our university.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? There are quite a few events for students from the ESN organization ranging from beerpong tournaments, to sports matches, to three-day trips abroad. The sports faculty has a DIF society which organizes various events. It is possible to register for the POPR student scheme, which allows you to attend a dedicated sports gym, gym or various courses free of charge.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:16000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation? The university sent me a list of verified accommodations. Maybe try your luck in different fb/wa groups, but beware of scams.

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Quite expensive accommodation (450€/month), but you can find relatively cheap accommodation (150-250€) in time and with luck.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Use the BicykeLj bike share with unlimited use for 2€ per year. Student BONI - points you get for every working day of the month to use in restaurants for student menus. The state supplements 4€ of the meal, so you have a portion with soup and salad for 3-5€.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?almost without problems

How does public transport work in the city?neutral

And what about transport outside the city?neutral

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? It is best to search for connections on google maps. They also have their Urbana app for public transport, but it's pretty cluttered. Best to use city bike share or buy a bike at a bike bazaar though. It's faster and more convenient than buses.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Ljubljana is a beautiful but relatively small city. You can walk through the historic centre with the castle in an afternoon. I would recommend the castle, the Triple Bridge, Tivoli Park, Šmarna gora.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?I would recommend any mountain. Triglav National Park, Grintovec, Velika Planina, Bled, Lake Bohinj, Soca Valley, Škocjanske jame, Postojna, Piran.

Share your best experience:I have countless experiences. The best one is probably climbing Triglav. From waking up at 3 in the morning to the top it was worth it. Beautiful scenery and views and it is said that every Slovenian should climb Triglav at least once in their lifetime.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Car

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?Buses from the Czech Republic go all the way to the city centre. Given the relatively large number of Czechs, there is a pretty good chance that someone will take you by car.

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing?Umbrella, raincoat. It often rains in Ljubljana.
