🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?it's alright

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?A lot of group projects, often the final grade was based on the group project, I liked that we often had creative assignments, not just essays and classic presentations. also practical subjects related to real organizations - e.g. Amnesty internetional. But overall I found the teaching comparable to MUNI.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Orientation week, student tutors (at least here at the faculty of Social sciences) and ESN had a lot of events.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Special examination conditions (e.g., extended time, quiet rooms)

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:15000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation?Facebook groups (mainly Slovenian), sites like: bolha.com, nepremicnine.net

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?The beer was more expensive than I expected, but not only that, I thought Slovenia was a cheaper country as it is already a bit Balkan, but compared to the Czech Republic it was more expensive, I was surprised by the prices of accommodation, a separate room cost 15 000 CZK, I luckily shared it, otherwise I would have had a problem paying for it.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Use Boni, which is a system thanks to which students get big discounts in restaurants (but they explain this to everyone on arrival) use city bikes instead of public transport "bicikeLJ", which cost 3€ for the whole year and are a great way of transport, or buy your own bike.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?almost without problems

How does public transport work in the city?terrible

And what about transport outside the city?I've seen better

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?I haven't used it, so I don't know the details, but mhd costs about 20 € per month. for long-distance connections I only know that you need a printed ticket which seems quite outdated to me.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?yes

How do you rate the availability of healthcare?mostly fine

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Tiny town, so walk through the center, go to the castle, metelkova street, go to the market (even the fish one).

What are the must-visit trip destinations? To the Triglav National Park, definitely to Triglav - the highest peak if possible, for climbers I recommend Osp, any hiking, even winter hiking around Krajnska Gora, skiing to Krvavec (on Friday student ticket through the university 10€ cheaper) if it is warm so also to the sea to Piran and then classically to Lake Bled, incredibly many opportunities for outdoor activities.

Share your best experience:Climbing Triglav, when we were wading through the snow and I was wearing summer hiking boots, I was scared for my life, but it was great. Alternatively, sleeping in a bivouac in the mountains when there were snow-covered hills all around and we built a fire inside a small wooden cabin and then went out at night and looked at the stars.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Car

Can you pay by card?in most places

What not to forget when packing? It's cooler there than one would think, so lots of layers. And all the sports equipment you can get- bike, skis, rope...

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?Life in Slovenia was amazing because I spent a lot of my time in nature, whether hiking, climbing or skiing.
