🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?it's alright

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you? There were much fewer of us in the classes (about 30, at MUNI there are about 200 of us) and we had much more personal contact with the professors - more discussions and debates. The classes there lasted about 195 minutes with a 15 minute break. And the semester there was much longer, lasting about 18 weeks.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Orientation week and then ESN Zagreb.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:27500 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation?I found it through Home in Zagreb, but a lot of my friends found it through Facebook groups or through students who were finishing their Erasmus.

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?I expected the food in the shops to be a lot cheaper, I guess it depends on where you go shopping, but for example meat and cold cuts were quite expensive.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Certainly the canteen lunches - soup, main course, salad, dessert and drinks came to just over 1 euro. So there was a lot of savings on food.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?I've seen better

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Zagreb as such is quite boring touristically, everything interesting can be experienced in two days, but for student life and work life it is a perfect city.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Actually anywhere in Croatia or the Balkans. A lot of my friends had cars, so we travelled around a lot of Croatian and foreign cities. But the Flixbus was also pretty cheap, so there were a lot of trips.

Share your best experience:My whole Erasmus was actually the best experience of my life. I couldn't have chosen. I enjoyed every trip, but I also enjoyed everyday life and everyday things like living amongst locals, going to school, and then going out with my friends in the evening to party in the city. I will remember it for the rest of my life.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Bus

Can you pay by card?sometimes

What not to forget when packing?Definitely a swimsuit, but also winter boots and a jacket, it's not always warm there and I've been burnt out on that.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?Leaving was the hardest and most beautiful decision of my life. I got to know myself and people from all over the world.
