🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?neutral

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Everything is very flexible, including the schedule. Everything can be arranged with the teachers and all the dates can be adapted.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? The school organized an orientation meeting, a welcome meeting and intercultural training. The local ESN is also very active and organises weekly events.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:12000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?I was surprised that Georgia is really cheap, especially outside the tourist destinations.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?I recommend buying fruit and vegetables at markets and baked goods at small bakeries. Clothes and other things in bazaars (preferably Dezerter Bazaar next to the train station), where you can buy everything very cheaply. I always recommend trying to haggle on price.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?terrible

And what about transport outside the city?terrible

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? In Tbilisi, there is a TTC app that shows the buses and where it is. Google Maps also serves, but it's not accurate. In general, public transport in Tbilisi is more about waiting - both at the bus stop for your connection and in traffic jams. You can buy a single ticket directly on the bus at the contactless terminal. Long-term tickets are easiest to buy at metro stations.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Among the tourist destinations are definitely the historical centre around the sulphur baths, the statue of Mother Georgia, the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the view from the cable car to Mtatsminda. Otherwise, I also recommend the Dry Market, the Sky Bridge and the Factory area.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?I definitely recommend going to the mountains, either to Svaneti or to Kazbegi. In Kazbegi, I recommend the village of Stepantsminda, where you can go on a lot of hikes and it's such an authentic Georgian village. In Svaneti, the village of Ushguli. Otherwise I recommend the cities of Kutaisi, Sighnaghi and Batumi.

Share your best experience:The best experience was just hiking up the mountains, which are high and beautiful. We met horses along the way and in the last part we waded through the snow. The hikes are challenging but worth it.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane
Bus

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?I was flying to Kutaisi and not Tbilisi, so I had to find a connection. However, the buses from the airport run regularly to Tbilisi and are connected to the flights, so that wasn't a problem.

Can you pay by card?neutral

What not to forget when packing?Hiking gear.
