🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?no

Does the university offer enough courses in English?they have tons

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?The seminars take the form of discussion over the given examples. So a lot of self-study is needed, and in the seminar itself it can happen that one of the students is given the task of leading the discussion, and the teacher only intervenes when some outright nonsense is made or it goes in the wrong direction.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, the actual teaching is preceded by an induction week where everyone gets the necessary information and experiences how the teaching works. At the same time, all kinds of societies (ESN, Debating Club, ELSA...) organise various familiarisation events.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Other

Special needs - Other:I'm not entirely sure what all is provided, but it certainly depends on the arrangement, with all academics and other staff always doing their best to accommodate needs.

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:24000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?A textbook is needed for almost every subject (and very intensively worked with). These tend to be pretty thick books, so that's reflected in their prices.

Do you have any tips on how to save money? Most places are easily accessible on foot. For train tickets, it's a good idea to see if you can get a discount for off-peak travel, which will make the journey much cheaper (students who don't have a part-time job in the Netherlands travel at full fare).

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? All public transport in the Netherlands can be bought with a credit card in the car or on the train platform. You can find connections on google maps or via www.9292.nl. Buses in the city and regional trains are operated by Arriva. Normal trains are best searched directly at www.ns.nl.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?A nice city with a peaceful atmosphere, ideal location for trips to other cities, a predominance of international students and a modern teaching style.
