🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?It was very warm and open to international students, lifting us into the story of a nation and its culture.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, very much so. There was a really varied program in all areas. Especially the sport through the university here was varied and events every now and then.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Special aids and technologies (e.g., text-to-speech software, hearing aids)
Special examination conditions (e.g., extended time, quiet rooms)
Crisis intervention
Support for LGBTQ+ students (e.g., safe spaces, counseling services)

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:25000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Much more expensive country than I thought. More expensive life.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Download local apps and enjoy discounts. Especially Rimi, Lidl and Maxima. Then the local markets are nice too. But it's important to take advantage of those discounts or cheaper shops, I can get half the price.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?runs like clockwork

And what about transport outside the city?runs like clockwork

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?Through orientation days and cetntrum esn everything will be communicated. In the Baltic states they have common speed trains Elron. However, the best is the Lux bus service. These are Estonian buses and they are foxy fast and at quite a small price.

How do you rate the availability of healthcare?perfect

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city? The square, the historic centre, long walks along the water, the amphitheatre, the national museum.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Parnu, Viljandi, Elva + Tallinn, beautiful nature

Share your best experience:Probably the first days in Tartu, getting to know a new place, meeting new people and settling in is now my favourite moment of the whole Erasmus.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip? There is no need to fly directly to Tartu, it is expensive and with a transfer. The seasonal line Prague – Tallinn is sufficient, then take the already mentioned Luxbus which stops right at the airport and goes 2 hours.

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing?Probably photos on various small passes, and for me also a lot of drugs of all kinds, before one gets oriented so the body gets a really fast workout. A handbag for sure.
