🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?it's alright

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Especially the courses focused on eng. linguistics were more interactive, where students were mostly passive, we had no activities, but the homework was interesting. I missed the active form of eng. teaching at Ped Muni.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes. The university has held a fair number of bonding and social events in the first few weeks.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Crisis intervention

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:11000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Using the washing machine was quite expensive for its small capacity (3.5 euros, WITHOUT detergent.)
Also, you don't know if you'll have a freezer in your fridge - with a freezer, of course, you can cook in bulk for cheap and freeze food for later, or buy products like meat on sale and freeze it aswell. Then you can't do that without a freezer. Some people had one in their dorm, some didn't. I used to put stuff in my neighbor's freezer in cases like this.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Be sure to get membership cards for local chains (Rimi, Maxima, etc. you get discounted prices, and a little cashback). With an ISIC you then get 10% off orders at the local Hesburger fast food joint, if you like going to the movies you can also easily set up a membership account to get a good discount.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?almost without problems

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?runs like clockwork

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?Apps. For Riga-Liepaja connections I recommend Lux Express - very good service.
For public transport in Liepaja then "Liepajas pilsetas" for buying tickets. How to get where - google maps works great for that.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Without a doubt - the beach and the park by the beach. After that, it's worth going to the concert hall, going to the "karosta" district and exploring the dilapidated naval fortress.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Be sure to visit Riga - the old town is amazing, and nostalgically reminiscent of the streets of Czech towns. The coordinator will also be sure to take you on trips around Liepaja

Share your best experience:The best experience was probably the first 14 days of Erasmus, when it was still warm and you could swim in the Baltic Sea - every day we went to the beach with the Erasmus students to swim, play football, volleyball or basketball in the park next to the beach. Those are my best memories.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane
Bus

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?Weight of luggage.

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing?Swimsuit!

Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?Erasmus changed my life, I didn't come back the same. It was an unforgettable experience.
