🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?it's alright

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?It works hybrid, because of students who couldn't get to Lithuania (for various reasons).

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly? The university offers an orientation week (but for MSc students this may mean missing the first week of classes, so it is important to decide what is more important to the person). They have had various familiarisation events, parties.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Crisis intervention
Support for LGBTQ+ students (e.g., safe spaces, counseling services)

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:9000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Grocery chains actually have apps (like ours) with discounts, but the discounts are much more significant (especially when it comes to cosmetics, but also for groceries). In Lithuania, there are a lot of vintage shops/secondhand shops where you can do some great shopping if that's what you like and definitely get the public transport app, which gives the student big discounts on travel.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?almost without problems

How does public transport work in the city?I've seen better

And what about transport outside the city?runs like clockwork

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? In Lithuania there are two apps, 1. is Žiogas, through which public transport tickets are bought (works either by reading the qr code on the bus or by typing in a target code, which is also on the bus and at the door).
2. It's Trafi and works like a timetable where you can find the connection and time (it didn't work for me for a long time so I followed Google maps but public is often late there so it's more about chance if you catch the connection which is every half hour or so).

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Definitely the castle, the island is where the Zalgirio arena is, which offers free basketball, volleyball and tennis courts with the possibility to rent balls (free through the app), the Soboras church which dominates the centre and I highly recommend the Ninth Forth (definitely with a 2 hour guided tour).

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Trakai, it's basically a castle in the middle of the lake, Klaipeda, a seaside town with a dolphinarium (Nida was more recommended to us, but unfortunately we didn't manage to get there). And especially the city of Vilnius.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane
Train

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?If you are flying to Vilnius but travelling further to Kaunas, it can be more difficult to transfer at night, but most flights are at good times when you don't have to worry about spending the night somewhere in the airport.

Can you pay by card?in most places

What not to forget when packing?Nothing special but be careful during winter it can be extra cold, we experienced -24 degrees during the day there.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?I recommend everyone to go, despite the little inconveniences it is a great experience that I don't regret.
