🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?manageable

Are your credits converted?yes

Can you give an example? All the courses I took at the partner university were worth 3 credits and at MU they were converted to 5 credits.

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?I took almost all the courses with local students, the level of knowledge in Korea is not the same as in Europe, so often half the lecture was in English and half in Korean. At my university there were no seminars but only lectures.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, she offered some actions. She has an association for international students.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:25000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation? My friends helped me with accommodation.

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Yes, I was surprised by the relatively high price of state health insurance (about 2500 CZK per month).

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?neutral

How does public transport work in the city?runs like clockwork

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? In Korea, either Naver maps or Kakao maps are used instead of google maps. In Seoul, there is a so-called Climate card, where you can charge a credit for 62,000 won (about 700 CZK) once a month and you can take the subway and buses without any restrictions - only for Seoul.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?I definitely recommend aesthetic cafes and pop up stores, then the classics - Namsan Tower, Gyeongbokgung , Bukchon Hanok Village, definitely some museums.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Among the cities I recommend to visit in Korea are Busan (a city famous for its beaches), Seokcho (another seaside city), a short drive from Seoul is Suwon and Incheon - good as a daytrip, I've also been to Daegu, Gwangju and Gangneung.

Share your best experience:My favorite experience would probably be my whole trip to Jeju Island, I visited it with my classmates. Ideal 3-day trip during autumn or winter.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?yes

Where can it be arranged?Korean Embassy in Prague

What is needed?Confirmation of studies at MU and partner university, medical certificate, completed application form, copy of passport.

How long does it take approximately?3 weeks

How did you get to the place?Plane

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?It is a good idea to buy your tickets as soon as possible - I recommend a direct flight from Prague/Vienna.

Can you pay by card?in most places

What not to forget when packing? If you have a larger shoe size or a larger overall clothing size it can be difficult to find new clothes, many of my classmates couldn't buy shoes for winter in the fall semester because they don't have the standard shoe size for Asia.
