🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?they have tons

Are your credits converted?yes

Can you give an example? It's just a matter of rounding, as my courses had 7.5 credits each, but MU recognized them as 8.

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Not in an extreme way. But somewhere attendance was compulsory or lectures were not recorded or there were no materials other than notes on the board.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, an orientation week and lots of events, but they are organized by ESN, so you mix mainly with other Erasmus people and not much with the locals.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:30000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?Public transport is quite expensive (like everything else), but one can hardly do without it.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Classic - cook it yourself.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?runs like clockwork

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? The vast majority of buses (green around town and blue-green around the neighborhood) have the AtB app. For trains, there is the wonderful Entur app. These two are quite sufficient.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?An absolute classic is Nidarosdomen and Old Town Bridge. But you definitely need to go to the forests around the city. I loved going to the woods southeast of Dragvoll to pick mushrooms, and probably everyone will recommend Bymark. Personally, I still recommend taking the tram (the most northerly in the world!)! You can also take it to Ranheim and walk back along the sea from there. And I have to mention Ilabekken.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Everyone will probably immediately recommend Lofoten and the north of Norway or trips somewhere south to Bergen and the like. Unfortunately I didn't get to do many of these trips. But for me the best were the NTNUI Koiene cabins (https://koiene.org.ntnu.no/index.php). You book a cabin somewhere nearby and then you can go there for the night. There are huge huts for 15-20 people to choose from, as well as small piles of dirt where two can fit. Also one can rent in Boomerang or BUA various equipment one can go fishing for example.

Share your best experience:Personally, I've only been to the two smallest of the NTNUI huts, Selbukåten and Mortenskåten. Right before the first trip, when I booked the hut, my aunt gave me a fire extinguisher and told me to take it there and bring the old one back. It wasn't exactly what I had imagined, but in the end I can at least say that I wandered a few kilometres through the swamp with a fire extinguisher... I had mice running around my cabin at night, but that's part of it. Highly recommended.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip? Not really. The airport is not in town, but it's not too far away either. If someone wants to save a few euros, they can see how the green/blue/green buses are doing at AtB and not have to take that expensive special grey bus. It's more laborious, of course, but the AtB app can help.

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing?Probably nothing special. If you know what activities you plan to do, you know what to pack. Just have to take into account that everything is more expensive here if he wants to buy something.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?I'd go again sometime, ideally in the summer when it's not so dark.
