How competitive was the selection process? Did you have to go through an application procedure? No

Why would you recommend students do an internship? It provides you with extensive experience in both the work environment and self-development. Even a bad experience is valuable for some development and for the future.

💰And how to fund it?
What were your average monthly expenses during the internship?18000 CZK/month

Did the institution provide accommodation?no

Did you have any unexpected expenses during the internship?no

Do you have any tips on how to save money during the internship? My advice is not to try to save money on adventure and education, but to save on things you don't need, like clothes and expensive food. Cooking at home can save a lot of money. I also recommend having a remote online job because otherwise, it can be way too expensive to spend months doing an unpaid fulltime job.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How difficult was it for you to adjust to life abroad?no problem at all

How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? The Metro of Madrid is great, and you can purchase an Abono Joven if you are 26 or younger, which costs 10 EUR/ month and allows you to travel throughout the entire city of Madrid, including nearby areas such as El Escorial or Toledo. The buses in Madrid can be a bit of a nightmare, as they often arrive late. It is recommended to have an app that shows you when a bus is supposed to arrive, as the schedule is just a paper that lacks relevance. On the other hand, the buses like Alsa that provide transport from Madrid to other cities are very reliable and convenient.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Rastro de Madrid, Plaza de Olavide, Calle San Bernardo, Parque del Oeste, Plaza Mayor (try a bocadillo de calamares in La Campana), Lávapies, Prado Museum... The best thing to do is simply stroll around the city centre, getting lost in the numerous streets of Madrid, and avoiding the crowds. Try Honest Greens, you won´t be disappointed.

What are the must-visit trip destinations? You absolutely must go to Toledo (with Abono joven it is free), visiting El Escorial and Segovia is also recommended. Salamanca is beautiful and highly recommended, especially during Christmas time, but a bit further away. You can take the AVE train to get to Valencia or Alicante in less than 3 hours to enjoy beach time.

Share your best experience:My best experience must be just the daily life of strolling around the city centre, especially my favourite part, San Bernardo.
