Do you have tips on how to make a great impression on the institution?A proactive approach - not being afraid to ask questions, offer help and report back on tasks.
Diligence and reliability - meeting deadlines and doing a good job makes the best impression.
Genuine interest in the institution's topics - read ahead, ask colleagues about research and get involved.


How competitive was the selection process? Did you have to go through an application procedure?There was not much competition. I went through a short selection procedure, but it was more of a formal step - it was mainly to check my motivation, my experience and whether I would fit in with the focus of the institution. So the process was quite friendly and not too demanding.

Why would you recommend students do an internship?Because it is a great opportunity to see how the institution works in practice, to gain valuable contacts and work experience. You get to try out new things that you don't get to experience at school and it often helps you clarify your own career path. In addition, it is a chance to live briefly in another country and grow as a person.

If not, how did you find it?I searched for him through the Facebook groups for Erasmus students in Athens, which offer shared apartments and rooms.

Do you have any tips on how to save money during the internship?Accommodation: look for shared flats or student halls instead of private rentals.
Eating out: cook at home instead of frequenting restaurants; shop at local supermarkets or markets.
Leisure: use free cultural events, museums with free entry or student discounts.
Shopping: plan purchases and avoid impulse spending; watch for discounts and promotions.

What is a must-see in the city?Acropolis and Acropolis Museum, Plaka and Monastiraki, Lycabettus Hill, National Archaeological Museum and Benaki Museum, Athens markets and local cafes, Athens beaches (e.g. Glyfada, Vouliagmeni), Agora and Roman monuments.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Islands by ferry from Piraeus, thermal lakes and spas (such as Loutraki or Thermopylae).

Share your best experience:My best experience was a trip to the island of Aegina - beautiful coastline, picturesque harbour, typical Greek tavernas with fresh seafood and the peaceful atmosphere of the island, perfect for walking and exploring the local culture.
