🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?they have tons

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Teaching in most courses takes the form of lectures with optional participation - however, it is also possible to choose "seminar" courses where teaching takes the form of group assignments, simulations, etc. Most teachers use traditional materials for teaching - textbooks, PP presentations and printed materials. Very rarely, alternative teaching methods such as quiz applications are used.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes - the ESN association works very well, providing a programme for newly arrived Erasmus students in the form of parties, trips, visits to institutions and international dinners.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Psychological counseling
Special examination conditions (e.g., extended time, quiet rooms)
Support for LGBTQ+ students (e.g., safe spaces, counseling services)
Other

Special needs - Other:Assistance in finding housing, checking the provisions of lease agreements.

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:15000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation?Facebook groups and offers work very well. The university has its own halls of residence, but you have to apply early + offers support in finding accommodation. I personally lived in Brussels - the schedule can be set for 2-3 days a week, the train ride takes about 1 - 1,5 h, the fare in Belgium is very cheap for students.

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?I was surprised by the fare - I recommend securing a student card for the trains.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?runs like clockwork

And what about transport outside the city?runs like clockwork

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?yes

How do you rate the availability of healthcare?mostly fine

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Antwerp itself doesn't offer much apart from the cathedral and the art museums (both of which are free or discounted for residents - i.e. you just need a student card from the university). But everything in Belgium is beautifully accessible by public transport, trains or FlixBus - so I recommend travelling as much as possible. Even to Holland or France it takes a short trip.

Share your best experience:The best experiences are all connected with the people you meet at ERASMUS. All students are looking for friends, fun and experiences. The best was definitely the Christmas market in Luxembourg, where we went on a day trip together.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Plane
Bus

Can you pay by card?in most places

What not to forget when packing?Raincoat or waterproof jacket, it rains most of the time.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences? It's a demanding study, but it really pushes you - it's not a chore, but there's still plenty of time for experiences.
