🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?they have tons

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Unlike MUNI, the teaching is very practical. Students work on a lot of different projects and portfolios to which they apply theoretical knowledge, which is also quite time consuming. There is also a lot of group work, so you can practice soft skills.
The relationship between teacher and student is also much more open. A lot of work is done on a friendly relationship, the teachers try to be as helpful as possible.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, it offers orientation week, but only at the beginning of the academic year, i.e. for students arriving in the fall. There are many student societies at the university and they are happy to accept exchange students.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?I haven’t noticed

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:32500 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?no

Do you have any tips on how to find private accommodation? The university itself helped arrange my housing.

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?I had to pay water and sewerage as part of my housing.

Do you have any tips on how to save money? If you want to travel a lot, it is definitely worth it to travel in groups. Local transport is very expensive, they don't offer student discounts, only group discounts. You can also get something like the Brno "salinkart", but I have no experience with that.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?runs like clockwork

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket? There are several apps for finding connections, I used 9292 for buses and NS App for trains. You can also easily buy tickets on the NS App. The whole buying process is much more intuitive in the mobile app than via computer.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Enschede is a relatively small city, but if one is a lover of greenery and parks, this is something for them. Right next to the university is Volkspark, which is perfect for picnics with friends, playing various games or even sunbathing. A short walk from the centre is another giant park (Abraham Ledeboer), perfect for jogging, walking the dog and so on. I definitely recommend going through the centre (Oude Markt) and sitting in one of the restaurants.

What are the must-visit trip destinations? For me the nicest city was Utrecht. It's about an hour and a half by train from Enschede, but it's exactly the kind of city that offers everything in my opinion. It's neither big nor small, it's not crowded like Amsterdam, but at the same time it's not dead. Utrecht has canals running through it and the whole thing is designed in two "floors" - right next to the canals there are a number of cellars where various restaurants, shops or canoe rentals are run. If you're an architecture lover, you'll also find something to do.

Share your best experience:Kings Day or the celebration of the birthday of the current King Willem Alexander. The whole of the Netherlands is dressed in orange, everyone is in the streets. Most households open their "shops" in front of their houses and sell things they no longer need. Music is playing all day and the day after, people are out late into the night simply enjoying the day and the celebrations.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Train
Bus

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip? The journey to Enschede is definitely not on a plane. But there are other alternatives that can easily replace this - there is an overnight train from Prague to Deventer, or Flixbus to Enschede.

Can you pay by card?everywhere

What not to forget when packing? If one plans to ride a bike, I recommend a waterproof jacket, pants and a backpack.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?Even though I was afraid to go for a long time, I'm incredibly glad I did. Huge experience, lots of great friends.
