🎓Hit the books! How do you rate the university experience?
Can you enroll in a course where you can learn the local language?yes

Does the university offer enough courses in English?it's alright

Are your credits converted?no

Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?Teaching is very much focused on the needs of the students, with teachers actively finding out what topics students want to pursue. At the same time, the approach to learning is a bit loose, the timing of the classes doesn't play much of a role, and the interactive curriculum is definitely not specific in what will be taught and how the course will end.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, I felt like something was happening every day. From parties at the university to trips to the countryside, concerts, or sports and cultural events.

In which areas does the university offer support for students with special needs and strive to be inclusive?Barrier-free access to classrooms and dormitories
Special aids and technologies (e.g., text-to-speech software, hearing aids)
Special examination conditions (e.g., extended time, quiet rooms)
Crisis intervention
Support for LGBTQ+ students (e.g., safe spaces, counseling services)

💸Did you have to rob the bank?
Try to take a guess at what your monthly expenditures were:18000 CZK/month

Did you stay in dorms?yes

What about unexpected expenses? Did anything surprise you?I was rather surprised at how expensive Salzburg is. From rent to food to transport. While I certainly didn't splurge, it did cost a lot.

Do you have any tips on how to save money?Shop at Lidl, not Billa or Spar. Don't eat in restaurants unless you want to spend 20 euros or more on food, but cook for yourself.

🗺 Learn the ropes in a new city
How well did you manage to communicate in English?perfectly

How does public transport work in the city?mostly fine

And what about transport outside the city?mostly fine

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?Personally, I didn't use public transport even once, because I cycled around the city. The city is perfectly suited to bikes and pedestrians. I used the trains for trips. Tickets can be bought either at the station in vending machines or on the TrainLine or ÖBB app.

Did you deal with any health issues during your stay?no

🤠Help create the perfect bucket list
What is a must-see in the city?Although Salzburg is a beautiful city, its immediate Alpine surroundings are even better. At any time you can go on a hike or bike tour.

What are the must-visit trip destinations?Berchtesgaden National Park, Königsee, Mondsee, Wolfgangsee, Atersee or Fuschlsee. In fact, anywhere in the area, whether it's a lake or mountains.

Share your best experience:In the morning on a beautiful summer day I set off on my bike, rode 35 km and 800 m of altitude from Salzburg to Fuschlsee, took a bath and rode back through the alpine landscape. And because swimming was not enough, I went to the crystal clear Salzburg Almkanal in the evening with my friends.

💅A nugget of wisdom to make the life easier
Did you need to handle a visa?no

How did you get to the place?Train

Is there anything to watch out for before the trip?If possible, don't just have money on the card, but take cash as well. It may be that your bank won't be able to set up a direct debit so that the landlords can take the money out of your account (my case). Then they will ask you to pay in cash.

Can you pay by card?in most places

What not to forget when packing?Swimwear if you go in the summer and if you can bring your bike, you won't regret it.

🥳Summary
Whew, what a ride! 😮‍💨 Thanks so much for taking the time to complete our survey and for sharing your unique experience. Just one last thing. 🙏 How would you summarize your trip in one or two sentences?Beautiful city, clear lakes, high mountains. Salzburg has music playing all the time and you'll make friends from all over the world.
