Was there anything in the teaching methods that surprised you?The university didn't offer courses in English for my major, which surprised me a lot and I didn't know it beforehand. My courses required a lot of reading and independent work + a "term paper" closing course, which is written at exam time.

Does the university offer international students' programs and activities outside of lectures and seminars to help them integrate more quickly?Yes, we had a voluntary 3-week "preparatory course", where we had German lessons and some common activities to orient ourselves in the city and among the people.

Where to find connections? How to buy a ticket?There were only buses in the city, which could be found both in a local app and via Google maps. However, sometimes they did what they wanted and it was a bit of a mess.

What is a must-see in the city?The whole city centre, which is among the UNESCO sites, the climbing hall and many old breweries (e.g. Schlenkerla).

What are the must-visit trip destinations?To a castle near Bamberg (Altenburg) and also to Berlin, which is quite close.

Share your best experience:Endless climbing in the amazing bouldering hall, where I had a relatively cheap membership for the whole stay (so unlimited entries)!
