Subjects are given for each level of Chinese. After first week I could choose to change class to upper or lower level.

Credits were calculated based on total teaching hours.

Describe the teaching methods (theory, practical and projects) and assessment of students:
Basically teacher each lesson explained vocabulary and grammar and then we practised everything we have learned in that lesson.

Quality of teaching in comparison with home school:
Teachers, they all were experienced so they could answer the most of questions we asked.

How did you receive study materials?:
I had to buy textbooks.

Can you recommend an interesting course/subject/teacher?:
All language courses were interesting.

How well is the school library equipped?:
I didn't have to go to library, all I needed were chinese textbooks.

Availability of computers, internet access, level of software needed, requirements on notebook:
I used my own laptop. At school there was eduroam wi-fi so all my devices were automatically connected to wifi.

Options from printing and copying:
There was a copy center in campus.

Does the foreign school/student organisation arrange special events for exchange students?:
yes

Trip to Three Gorges or Shanghai.

I rented flat.

Me and my friend rented flat - two bedrooms, one living room. Total price 2000 RMB plus utilities.

Our apartment was well equipped, no need to buy anything.

How and how far ahead should accommodation be organised?:
One month ahead.

What are the catering options?:
Many canteens in campus, any kind of chinese food near by campus.

What are the rough costs of groceries (compare with Czech prices):
Food is cheaper, imported food is obviously more expencive.

Plane

Around 13 000 czk

Tips for purchasing cheap tickets and other recommendations:
Buy ticket few months in advance.

What are the local transport options (public transport, cycling, on foot, rough prices):
Anything you need is in campus or near by campus, you can get anywhere by foot within few mins. In case you need, there is cheap metro, bus, taxi etc.

What kind of formalities have to be arranged before arrival, for example residence permit?:
VISA before arrival, residence permit after arrival.

What health insurance did you use? (rough price, advantages, disadvantages, is it necessary to arrange insurance at the university other than your home (Czech) insurance?):
I purchased insurance in Czech republic, but after arrival I had to purchase chinese insurance as well.

Did you have any experience with medical treatment abroad?:
No

No, it is illegal.

What are the conditions for working for MU students?:
It is not allowed.
